Pressio Spine Receives Patent Issuance for the CONTINUUM ACDF Nitinol Fixation System

Pressio Spine (Pressio, Inc.), is proud to announce the issuance of US Patent US10918484B2 entitled “Continuous Compression Fixation Device for the Fusion of an Intercalary Structural Augment.” Authored by J. Kent Ellington, MD, a foot and ankle orthopedic surgeon with extensive experience using the shape memory alloy Nitinol, and Daniel Leas, MD, an orthopedic spine surgeon.  The patent covers Pressio Spine’s CONTINUUM™ ACDF Nitinol Fixation System, which received clearance by the FDA in 2021 for single-level use in anterior cervical discectomy and fusion (ACDF) procedures from C3 to C7 in conjunction with a surgeon’s choice of interbody device.
