Kent Ellington, MD, a foot and ankle orthopedic surgeon with extensive experience using the shape memory alloy Nitinol, and Daniel Leas, MD, an orthopedic spine surgeon. The patent covers Pressio Spine’s CONTINUUM™ ACDF Nitinol Fixation System, which received clearance by the FDA in 2021 for single-level use in anterior cervical discectomy and fusion (ACDF) procedures from C3 to C7 in conjunction with a surgeon’s choice of interbody device.
